Carlos Ezequiel

The Alagoan Carlos Ezequiel has developed career as the drummer, composer and arranger of jazz and Brazilian music since 1992, having been for five years in the United States. His professional experience includes: a tour of two months to Europe with the artist Macleim in 1998, composed of 28 presentations in 10 cities of Switzerland, France and Holland, in festivals as the Montreux Jazz Festival and Schelde Jazz Festival; concerts with his own work in partnership with Lupa Santiago in festivals in Brazil (Cascavel Jazz 2002, among others) and United States (Best of Berklee 2000 in Rhode Island, Massachusetts Arts Festival 1999, in Boston); besides presentations accompanying artists of jazz in the USA. 

Granted with a scholarship by the Berklee College of Music during three years, Carlos concluded Bachelor's Degree in Music in May of 1999. Some of his professors were Kenwood Dennard, Hal Crook and Luciana Souza. In March of 2001, Carlos Ezequiel was nominated to the Visa Prize of Best Instrumentalist. He was already a technical consultant for the magazine Modern Drummer, and at present he is musical supervisor and columnist of the magazine Batera & Percussão. 

 

At the moment, Lupa Santiago & Carlos Ezequiel dedicate themselves to the launching of the CD images, that was nominated to the Grammy Latino 2002 in the category Latin Jazz, and are concluding their next CD, titled Sinequanon.
